The story

The story

The brief

Halo Health helps people with chronic pain log how they feel each day. The old app opened on a wall of red charts. People who were already having a bad day closed it and stopped logging, which made the data useless for their doctors.

What I did

I started with the daily check-in and cut it from eleven questions to three, with a slider instead of a form. The brand moved from clinical red and white to soft cobalt and warm grey, set in a rounded sans that reads well at small sizes and in low light.

Good days first

Charts now open on the best week of the month, not the worst. It sounds small, but it was the change people mentioned most in testing.

What changed

Daily check-ins went up 3x in the first two months after the relaunch, and the App Store rating went from 3.1 to 4.7.
