The story

The story

The brief

Parcel’s drivers were loading vans from printed lists and phoning the depot to ask what came next. The team had the data but no interface drivers would actually use at six in the morning.

What I did

I rode along for three shifts, then designed a dashboard with one big instruction at a time: what to load, in which order, and where it goes in the van.

Readable from a metre away

Type and buttons are sized for a phone mounted on the dashboard, read by someone holding a box.

What changed

Parcel is now used by 2,000 drivers a day, and calls to the depot dropped by half.
